Butters AMT appoints a Sir Meccanica Manager

Droitwich, UK – 24 January 2007. Butters AMT has appointed Kieran Courtney as the manager of its Sir Meccanica range of in-line boring and welding machines. This appointment comes hot on the heels of Butters AMT announcing its appointment as the exclusive distributor of Sir Meccanica equipment in the UK and Ireland.

Before joining Butters AMT, Courtney, who is 36 and speaks fluent Italian, was Assistant Technical Sales Manager with Sir Meccanica SpA. Based in Catanzaro, Italy, he was responsible for machine demonstrations and training, plus he managed distributors and end-user customer accounts in the UK, the US, Australia, South Africa and mid-Asia.

Commenting on Courtney's appointment, Bob Burns, Butters AMT's Managing Director, says: “We're delighted to have Kieran on board. He knows everything there is to know about the Sir Meccanica machines and their applications. He's also a very energetic, customer-facing individual who'll fit in well with the ‘new look' Butters.”

Whilst carrying the job title Sir Meccanica Manager, Courtney will also be responsible for structuring Butters AMT into a full service and supply company, appointing sub-agents and taking the Butters AMT and Sir Meccanica brands to overseas markets. He will also be organising Butters AMT's presence at national and internal trade shows and exhibitions.

Courtney comments: “The Butters AMT and Sir Meccanica products are some of the most cost-effective, high-performance products in their respective fields, and attending exhibitions and giving demonstrations are just two of the ways in which we're going to promote that fact.”

Interestingly, whilst most often to be found in the workshop, Courtney is equally at home with computers, as he holds diplomas in computing (C and Turbo Pascal), is a Microsoft certified engineer and has an NVQ in Business Administration.
